Have a DAYscursion

Have a DAYscursion

I don't know how you were reared but my childhood memories are filled with drinking from a water hose, hearing my mom yoohoo at sunset to come home from the neighborhood banana seat bicycle symposium and spending Sunday driving looking at the side roads from the back seat of our 1969ish 4-door Chevy called Whitie. Good times. Except when my brother wanted to put his finger over the dividing line of the back seat and I'd have to call out for my parents to referee. No one needs little brother germs on their side.

We didn't eat out a lot. On rare occasion if it wasn't a home cooked meal, we got to eat frozen dinners on a TV tray and watch Lawrence Welk or HeeHaw. So, the Sunday drives were especially fun. It was a guarantee we'd get to eat something totally gross and yummy. Fried chicken in a nearby park was a dream come true. Burger Doodle didn't exist in name but it did as a generic reference at the next burger spot, cuz we're pulling in. And today I relived that memory.

I was to show homes in a remote area about 45 minutes outside the city limits of Austin in a sweet town called Marble Falls. And guess what. There was a local Burger Doodle worth stopping for. It was "down town," allowing me to stroll amongst the stores and window shop. Only thing missing was the annoying little brother. DAYscursions keep your childhood from fading. And touring these different homes all invariably have laminate flooring and kitchen counters, metal fencing and teeny closets that holds about two weeks worth of clothes. Memories, I can smell it!

It's a simple way to live. And, for many, a genuine one. Some have never traded drinking from a hose and that's just fine. I can appreciate that. And I'm happy to show you homes that fit nicely with "down town" strolls and DAYscursions from the faster pace. Maybe we'll find you the perfect home on Memory Lane.
